Remember that YOU have to be satisfied with your music, regardless of what anyone says. Hope this is in some way or another usefull to you. It will make sound everything more impactfull and snappy. Dont be afraid to cut out frequencys you dont need and push the frequencys you want to come through (low for bass, mids for lead, high for hihats snares etc.) just a little bit higher. Use the spectrum analyzer to see what frequencys are used by wich instrument. Thats ok but it kinda sounds like there is to much release on the side chain, its also a possibility that its the length of your kick sample what causes this. A sawtooth subbass could have really helped (you know, oscilator with a pretty low key sawtooth wave just playing at the same time, maybe lowpass filtered).Ĭorrect me if I´m wrong but it sounds like you have used sidechain compression to press away that noisy lead. Its a cool beat and a cool Idea but the sound design just comes across as a little bit flat. Pretty much the same goes for the second part where the bassline starts. The kicks (the long and big ones, not the little short) you chose sound a bit flat, equlizing out the low frequencys or just putting some effects over it (like sausage fattner or a lowpass filter with more drive) could do that. Feels like the 'lead' gets pushed away for a little bit to long. Some distorted instrumented beat, delving into breakcore and IDM territiory. Correct me if Im wrong but it sounds like you have used sidechain compression to press away that noisy lead.
